A static web page displays the same information for all users, from all contexts where navigation is performed through "static" documents.
Advantages
- Good for informational sites that require little or no changes.
- Ideal for demonstrating how a site will look.
Disadvantages
- Difficult to maintain when a site gets large.
- Difficult to keep consistent and up to date.
- Offers little visitor personalization.
- Changes to web pages usually require HTML experience or additional software.
To put it in non tech terms...static web pages are like boxed mac-n-cheese. You can try and spice it up with lots of other stuff, but in the end it still taste like boxed mac-n-cheese.
